Counterfeit Detection is Easy With Cummins-Allison Currency Processing!
Small or large, basic or highly-sophisticated, Cummins-Allison offers the widest range of counterfeit detection available in the industry today.
Catch More Counterfeits
An ever-increasing number of counterfeit notes are becoming more advanced than their predecessors. These notes often include most of the same characteristics as real currency, including watermarks, magnetic ink, colour shifting ink, and security threads.
The Industry's Most Advanced Counterfeit Detection
Using cutting-edge sensors, Cummins-Allison equipment catch many sophisticated counterfeit notes that other systems miss. Many different modes of detection sensing — with varying levels of sophistication — are available to meet the specific needs of currency processors:
- Scan Sensors -- Identifies the true value of clip cornered notes. Low quality counterfeits are also challenged as "no calls".
- Infrared Sensors -- The latest technology in combating counterfeits tests the printing quality of each note.
- Fluorescence Sensing -- Tests each note's paper and stops when a note fluoresces differently than real currency.
- Enhanced Ultraviolet -- Ultraviolet (UV) sensing validates paper authenticity. Different degrees of UV detection are incorporated into certain JetScan models with higher counterfeit detection capabilities.
- Magnetic Sensing -- Basic magnetic sensing compares magnetic ink levels to different pre-set levels for each denomination. Thus, high value notes can be carefully screened while $5 or $10 settings can be low or off. Additional magnetic properties are monitored with more advanced sensors available in certain JetScan models.
JetScan iFX: The Ultimate in Counterfeit Protection
Using serial number capture, a note found to be counterfeit — hours, days or weeks after the note is accepted and processed — can be charged back to its source. Plus the JetScan iFX can be equipped with top-of-the-line counterfeit detection to catch counterfeits immediately.
